“Time has changed”; Covid-19 impact has, over the past one year, dented our economy and led companies/organizations to think on the ways how they can cut down costs in order to sustain their businesses. Like various other industries/segments, the co-working and co-living verticals of India also suffered losses and a major dip in revenues during the early Covid outbreak period and subsequent nationwide lockdowns. However, going forward, we can see a silver lining for these two segments; in the post-Covid world, given the fact that cost-optimization will be a key agenda, a large number of companies and individuals across the country are expected to turn towards the ‘sharing economy’. And therefore, co-living and co-working spaces will rise to glory again.
Now, in unprecedented times like these when the country’s economy is going through a recession-like phase, it is making all the more sense for the co-working and co-living segments to opt for rented furniture. While purchasing luxury furniture items is out of the question for many, online furniture renting comes as a perfect affordable solution. Furniture rental subscriptions are also possibly the most secure and convenient way of having furniture delivered at your offices and home-offices. Needless to say, co-working and co-living spaces’ providers are realizing the benefits of renting, and therefore they are now seeking customized, long-term furniture rental services for their workspaces and/or living spaces.
Considering the above-mentioned scenario, Fabrento, one of the country’s leading furniture rental start-ups, has started providing custom-made, high-quality furniture at reasonable rates for various co-living and co-working spaces, according to their design, area, and budget. Fabrento, backed by Continental Group, has its own in-house manufacturing unit, and hence the start-up can cater to the diverse needs/requirements in terms of furniture rental for different types of co-living/co-working facilities. About Mr Sidhant Lamba, Founder, Fabrento:
Fabrento was founded by Sidhant Lamba in 2016. He has always been a man of dreaming big and thinking out of the box. He has done his graduation from Apeejay Institute of Design in Bachelors of Interior Design. Following this, he acquired his Master’s from Regent’s University London in International Business.
He has further finessed his studies through Interior Decoration course from Inchbald School of Design, London, Alongside Art and its Markets from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London and Lighting Design course from Chelsea College of Arts, UK. He has also studied social and digital media marketing in Dubai.
He has started his career through the family business, The Continental Group, which is providing interior solutions since the 1940s. He has already made a mark in the field of design and designers through his STROT line whose success led to the opening of ultra-luxurious home store, STROT, in South Delhi.
In 2016, Fabrento became the precious product of Mr Lamba’s education in interior designs and international business and his experience in the field. He is also the co-founder of The Style Stamp since 2015, an online community for the emerging fashionistas and trendsetters.
Lamba has always been passionate about décor and furnishing. He was keen on bringing the latest furniture designs into people’s home and office. However, every time a new model of furniture hits the market is not at all a feasible option to buy it. Because of this, many and especially millennials fall behind to create that impressive first impression through their home décor. Furniture renting is already a lucrative business in overseas and this inspired the birth of Fabrento to cater to the consumers of India.
He favours interesting shapes, raw items from nature, inlays – mother of pearl, metals carvings that inspire him to create and design homes. He loves the concepts of Phillip Stark and Andrew Martin and furniture by designers like Barbara Barry, Kelly Hoppen and sensibilities of Brands such as Ligne Roset, Monotti and Poliform.
